Finance Department

The Finance Department serves as the main billing and collection agent of the Village. Items such as vehicle sticker applications and collections are conducted in the Department. Additional revenue collection areas the Departments perform, in part or whole, are water bills, and other miscellaneous billings. 

Its Budget Office prepares the Annual Village Budget. Responsibilities include balancing revenues and expenditures and developing program objectives and producing the proposed and approved budgets. 

Internally, the Finance Department provides services to other departments such as payroll, accounting, accounts payable, and purchasing. 

Customer Service is the cashiering hub for the Village centralizing cashiering stations that are set up in other departments. The customer service officers manage, vehicle licensing, pet licensing, water billing, and shut-off program.

The Village of Matteson received overwhelming support on June 13, 2022, in passing a referendum to make the Village of Matteson a Home Rule community. With the successful passage of the referendum of Home Rule, and as promised by Village President Sheila Chalmers-Currin and the Board of Trustees, we are happy to notify you that the vehicle sticker and animal license program has been eliminated effective January 1, 2023.
