MATTESON, IL. - The Village of Matteson approved an economic incentive agreement to bring a Pete's Fresh Market to Matteson Plaza.

The agreement to induce a 75,000 square foot grocery in the shuttered Dominick's was approved by the Village Board at Tuesday's board meeting. "We are excited to announce the Village's latest public private partnership to develop a Pete's Fresh Market" stated Sheila Y. Chalmers-Currin, Village President. "Tonight is the culmination of more than 2 years of work to give our residents the grocery options they deserve."

Since the mass closing on Dominick's stores in 2013, the Village has been without a full line grocery store. This agreement includes an $8 million-dollar renovation of the vacant box and the creation of 150 new jobs. The renovation is projected to begin in the Spring.
