Message from the Chief

Help us keep our community safe! I am lucky to be the Police Chief of a dedicated and professional police department in the Village of Matteson. More so, our success is also attributed to our great partnership with the community residents, who are our eyes and ears working in keeping the community safe and providing a high quality of life for our residents, businesses, and visitors. Every day we strive to become better as a police department. I urge you to join us in helping keep the village safe. If you see something, notify us. There are also many other ways to get involved. We have a yearly Citizen's Police Academy where you can gain valuable insight into being a police officer in our community. Our award-winning Senior Triad program is host to over forty senior members who meet monthly at the police department. Our cadet explorers allow resident youths to learn about what it takes to be a police officer, and they help our department in the community. We are also active philanthropists, raising money for wonderful organizations such as Special Olympics - Illinois. We have designated block captains and work closely with eighteen different Homeowners Associations. There are many ways to get involved!
