Recreation Employment Opportunities

The Matteson Recreational Services Department employs 6 full-time employees and numerous part-time and seasonal employees who operate programs and facilities throughout the year. We are always looking for energetic, customer-focused individuals to be part of our team.

PART-TIME AND SEASONAL OPPORTUNITIES

Part-Time Building Attendants - Part-time Building Attendants are to work 15-20 hours per week at the Matteson Community Center. Duties include general supervision of the facility, monitoring activities, assisting the public, and daily cleanliness of the center. Must be 21 years of age and experienced in working with the public; a fitness background is a plus. See the position description for details. $9.50/hr., flexible scheduling, may be required to work evenings or weekends. Part-Time Member Services Representatives - The Village of Matteson is seeking to hire Part-Time Member Services Representatives to work 15-20 hours per week at the Matteson Community Center. Responsible for a wide range of services in greeting the public, providing information about programs and facilities, collecting and processing registrations, and data entry. Must have strong communication skills, and experience with computer applications and cashiering duties. See the position description for details. $9.45/hr., flexible scheduling, may be required to work evenings and weekends. Group Fitness Instructors - Nationally certified instructors in group fitness, with secondary certifications in specialty classes such as kickboxing or cycling classes if teaching such classes. Must be certified in CPR and First Aid. Requires strong people and customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with staff and the public. Athletic Programming - Individuals interested in athletics and sports programs, working with people, instructing athletics classes, programs, and workshops for the Community. Times may vary including morning, evening, and weekend hours. Instructors are encouraged to share their program ideas. All instructors must be 18 years of age, and able to demonstrate skills, expertise, knowledge, or a certification of the content to be instructed. Tai Chi Instructor - Certified instructor in Tai Chi, with secondary certifications in specialty classes such as Qigong or Meditation if teaching such classes. Must be certified in CPR and First Aid. Requires strong people and customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with staff and the public. The pay scale will range from$25 per class depending on experience.  Jujitsu Instructor - Certified Jujitsu, with secondary certifications in specialty classes such as kickboxing, MMA, boxing, or Judo if teaching such classes. Must be certified in CPR and First Aid. Requires strong people and customer service skills, the ability to work with children, and the ability to communicate effectively with staff and the public. Latin/Salsa Instructor
- The Matteson Community Center is seeking an outgoing enthusiastic Latin/Salsa Instructor who has a love for dance and looking to make an impact in the community. Applicants must be friendly, motivated, and have a passion for dance and a desire to educate. Must have prior experience in teaching Latin styles of dance in a group setting.

Preschool Programs – The Matteson Community Center is seeking an instructor to conduct specific preschool specialty classes. These programs are designed as a first social experience for children. Children are exposed to basic social skills, age-appropriate arts & crafts, stories, songs, discovery play, and outdoor experiences.
