The Matteson Parks and Recreation Department is offering 3 year old classes and 4 & 5 year old classes for this Fall's 2008 15 week Preschool program. All classes will meet at the Matteson Community Center, 4450 W. Oakwood Lane, starting September 2nd & 3rd. Classes for 3 year olds have openings available from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Monday/Wednesday/Friday or Tuesday/Thursday. The 4 & 5 year olds classes have openings available from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Monday/Wednesday/Friday or Tuesday/Thursday. Class sizes are limited to (15) for 3 year olds and (20) for 4 & 5 year olds.

The Preschool curriculum is designed as a step toward the kindergarten level and formulated to enrich and strengthen the child's social, emotional, motor, language and perceptual skill development through daily activities. Activity areas are covered in conjunction with weekly themes planned by the Preschool instructors. Holidays are also celebrated.

The 3 year old program is available for those children that are at least 3 years old on or before September 1, 2008. The child MUST be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2008 and entering kindergarten the following Fall 2009 to enroll in the 4 & 5 year old program. An ORIGINAL birth certificate MUST be shown upon registering the child for the program. Children must be potty-trained. Preschool will be closed on school district #159 and/or #162 holidays.

(3-day) fee: $274.00 / NR $279.00

Registration is being accepted during regular office hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Wednesday's evening 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The last day to register (if space is available) is Monday, September 22, 2008.
