Late Friday afternoon (January 8, 2010), the village was informed by Canadian National that improvements will begin along the EJ&E line and staff would like to notify the residents of information as we receive it. Beginning Monday, January 11, 2010, the CN will begin site preparation work for the construction of railroad connections between CN's north-south route and the EJ&E. The initial work includes cutting trees and clearing vegetation south of North Street and the commuter parking lot. Additional cutting and clearing will be done on areas along the east side of the railroad embankment south of Old Plank Road Trail to 216th Street and south of the EJ&E viaduct. We would further advise that upon completion of site preparation work, grading and other earthwork will commence.

As CN begins improvements along EJ&E line, we want to ensure that our residents are aware of any pre-construction activity that will be occuring in the first quarter of the year.
