The Village of Matteson bills for water, sewer and scavenger services on a bi-monthly basis. Residents will receive 6 utility bills a year. New residents are required to have the following documents in order to sign up for services, Trustee Deed, Warranty Deed, Bill of Sale, or Lease (For Renters) and Driver's License/State I.D.


Current Rates are as follows:

Water:  $8.52 per 100 cubic feet of water consumption
Sewer: $2.00 line charge plus $0.40 per 100 cubic feet of water consumption (per billing cycle)
Scavenger: $19.00 per month.
Scavenger Administrative Fee: $2.00 per month
Storm Water Fee: $7.00 per month (residential rate)

Past Due Charges & Shut-Off Procedure:

ATTENTION WATER BILLING CUSTOMERS

Pursuant to the Village Board Meeting on March 2, 2015 as well as village ordinance 52.31, effective immediately - prior to May 15, 2015, all water bills with past due balances must be paid in full. Failure to pay past due amounts will result in water service interruption. From this point on, all accounts must be settled within the billing period. Payment arrangements on water accounts are not available.

Guidelines for Payment:

The Village of Matteson accepts the following forms of payment: Business or personal check (from USA bank accounts only), money order, and credit/debit card (Visa/MC/AmEx/DIS). The Village of Matteson accepts money orders denominated only in United States Dollars. Any other form of payment will be denied. The Village of Matteson does not accept temporary checks, nor starter checks. Personal checks must have imprinted name of checking account holder and possess a check number greater than 300.

Returned checks will be subject to a $35.00 returned check processing fee.

High Water Bill:

In most instances, higher than normal water usage is caused by undetected leaks in the flush tank of the toilets, as these are not visible to the homeowner. We suggest checking your flush tanks periodically.
