The Village of Matteson sends monthly bills for water, sewer, and scavenger services. Bills are mailed between the 10th and 12th of every month. Customers have 15 days to pay their bills. New residents are required to have the following documents in order to sign up for services, Trustee Deed, Warranty Deed, Bill of Sale, Lease (For Renters) and Driver's License/State I.D.

Rates: Are as follows:

Water: $5.38 per 100 cubic feet of water consumption
Sewer: $1.00 monthly line charge plus $.20 per 100 cubic feet of water consumption
Scavenger: $13.50 per month.

Past Due Charges & Shut-Off Procedure:

A 10% Penalty will be applied to water, sewer and recycling charges when payment has not been received by 4:00 p.m. on the due date. Service will be discontinued if the bill remains unpaid for more than 45 days after the due date shown on the statement. Service will not be resumed until all arrears plus an additional "turn-on" fee of $50.00, $75.00, or $100.00 has been paid. A $200.00 charge applies if water is turned on after hours. The Village of Matteson assumes no responsibility for what may happen on the premises as a result of the water being turned off.

High Water Bill:

In most instances, higher than normal water usage is caused by undetected leaks in the flush tank of the toilets, as these are not visible to the homeowner. We suggest checking your flush tanks periodically.
